Preparedness

Preparedness in one of the four emergency management activities and can be accomplished at home without much difficulty.  Many people do not realize a disaster can happen in their town until often it is too late to prepare for.  Small, simple steps can help to ensure you and your family’s safety by being prepared and understanding what to do in an emergency and when to do it. 

One of the first steps families can take towards preparedness is creating a family preparedness kit that will help families get through the days following a disaster.  Vermont Emergency Management has developed a workbook that outlines the needs and procedures.
